Channing Tatum and Chloë Sevigny
are the latest stars to pay memorial to late actor James Ransone
in the wake of his tragic death at 46 Friday.

Tatum on Wednesday posted a shot of himself posing with Ransone in 2010 as he celebrated his 30th birthday.

The Cullman, Alabama–born actor and Ransone, a native of Baltimore, had worked together on the 2011 police drama The Son of No One.

‘There ain’t words for these things,’ said the Magic Mike actor. ‘But you my friend… was one of the realest.
‘I remember being in every conversation with you and just always being like I wonder what he’s gonna say.!!??? Lololol.’
Tatum wrapped up by referring to the actor by his nickname PJ in saying, ‘I love you PJ I’ll see you on the next one my G.’

Sevigny, 51, shared a set of images of the late actor, whom she was pictured holding hands with in July of 2008, captioning her post: ‘You beautiful wild child.’

The Oscar-nominated actress continued, ‘That wit, that charm, that spunk. Say hello to Alanna, Ben, Dash and all the other bright lights who departed too early.’

Tatum and Sevigny shared their memorials just days after authorities with the
Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office said Ransone took his own life at a Southern
California residence; a
Go Fund Me has been set up for Ransone’s family.
Oscar-winning filmmaker Spike Lee took to Instagram earlier this week with a shot of himself and Ransone, listing off the films they collaborated on.
‘Rest In Peace To My Dear Brother,MR. JAMES RANSONE,’ Lee said. ‘We Rocked Together On RED HOOK SUMMER And INSIDE MAN.’
The Wire creator David Simon told the
Baltimore Banner he found Ransone to be an ‘extraordinary talent’ and ‘smart, sincere collaborator.’
Simon alluded to subsequent collaborations he and Ransone had on the HBO shows Generation Kill and Treme.
Simon added, ‘He committed not only to the work but to the camaraderie that turns every good film production into something familial and caring.
He said Ransone told him of playing Ziggy, ‘I got this part covered,’ adding, ‘And he did. Not only Ziggy, but a Marine lance corporal and New York line cook as well. He didn’t simply act; he inhabited his roles.’

Ransone was best known for his portrayal of wayward young dock worker Ziggy Sobotka on
HBO‘s The Wire during the show’s second season.

The sophomore frame of
the enduring series from creator David Simon closely examined the economic issues Baltimore dock workers faced amid changing times.

It illustrated how the slow times at the docks led a few workers – including Ransone’s character Ziggy – to earn extra cash smuggling in contraband.

Amid the items unwittingly smuggled in by the Baltimore crew included drugs, and women tragically trafficked into the U.S. to be sex workers.

Ransone had a number of other prominent TV roles, including on shows such as Bosch and Poker Face.

He had also appeared in multiple motion pictures including 2019’s It: Chapter Two
