Using private equity money is commonplace on both sides of the Atlantic, but Brooklyn is likely getting guidance from his billionaire father-in-law, Nelson Peltz – one of the most powerful business figures in the world.
Peltz’s firm, Trian Fund Management, has made billions through heavyweight investments in companies such as Heinz, Cadbury, Pepsi and Kraft Foods.
Brooklyn’s partnership with Morrison Seger is hardly a surprise, especially after the firm’s founder and CEO, Rogers Healy, penned a blog post emphasizing the growing importance of venture firms joining forces with A-list talent.
‘Celebrities aren’t just bright lights; they bring attention to your brand and (typically) massively engaging followings,’ he wrote. ‘Their endorsements can catapult your brand into the limelight faster than you can say “viral.”

‘License to cry,’ David captioned the post, marking the emotional symmetry of becoming the first person in history to win the MLS Cup both as a player and as an owner, while subtly nodding to the son who wasn’t there to see it.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn had been fending off opposition over his hot sauce company’s trademark applications, with his most recent being from major sneaker brand On, famous for their signature Cloud shoes.


According to The Sun, the company hired celebrity-endorsed law firm Bristows, to object to Cloud23’s trademark application shortly after its official launch, under classifications such as food, booze, sauces, live streaming and sports equipment.
However, Brooklyn got lucky as both sides reportedly reached an amicable resolution as On never followed through with the objection – his trademark was registered.
This wasn’t the aspiring chef’s first brush with trademark trouble, though.
He had already sparred with Brauerei Beck & Co and California wine label Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars as Buster Sauce pushed into new markets.
