Disgraced Disney Channel star Matt Prokop was not exactly welcoming when law enforcement arrived at his Victoria, TX apartment on Christmas Eve to arrest him for violating bond conditions from his 2024 aggravated assault charge.

The troubled 35-year-old opened and then promptly slammed his door in the faces of the police officers, who were nonetheless able to enter the apartment – according to TMZ.

As they attempted to handcuff Prokop, he ‘disobeyed orders’ by ‘pulling his arms away and twisting his body’ in order to avoid apprehension.

The former child star received two more charges for evading and resisting arrest before being booked in the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office Jail where his bail amount is listed as $117,500 on the website.

On New Year’s Eve, Prokop received an additional charge of possession of child pornography after law enforcement discovered ‘between 10 and 50 depictions.’

In total, the 5ft11in suspect is facing two felonies and four misdemeanor charges.

As for Prokop’s alleged aggravated assault against his former fiancée, she spoke exclusively with the Daily Mail last Saturday about her experience.

‘After many years of abuse, the effects are still very real and continue to impact my life,’ she said.

‘Right now, I’m taking time to heal privately, with the support of close friends and family. Taking this time does not lessen the seriousness or harm of his actions. As more information comes out, I ask that all victims be treated with care, dignity and respect.’

Prokop’s ex met him on social media at a young age, but their romantic relationship didn’t begin until she was an adult.

The Daily Mail reached out to his representatives for comment regarding the allegations, but did not immediately hear back.

The first sign of trouble for Prokop began in 2014 when his Geek Charming co-star Sarah Hyland filed a domestic violence restraining order against him for physically and verbally abusing her throughout their four-year relationship.

‘His grip [on my neck] was so tight that I could not breathe or speak,’ the 35-year-old Modern Family alum said in the court documents. ‘I was scared and in fear for my life.’

Hyland told Variety in 2024 that she is still ‘triggered’ over her experience as a DV survivor.

‘[It stays] in that abused place of your soul, where you think it’s your fault the whole time and you could have done better, you could have gotten out sooner, you could have told people,’ the four-time SAG Award winner explained.

‘I don’t know if that part [of] any woman will ever be fully healed from that.’

Prokop – who hasn’t worked since 2014 – is best known for his role as Jimmie ‘The Rocket Man’ Zara in Kenny Ortega’s 2008 three-quel High School Musical 3: Senior Year, which amassed $252.9 million at the box office.

He also appeared in episodes of Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, NBC’s The Office, NBC’s Medium, and ABC’s Modern Family.
